Aj has been busy packing and saying his goodbye's. His room looks like a clothes bomb went off but somehow he found all the things he needed to pack for his mission!
Aj and some of his friends pose for a final photo.
We got together for a family photo. Everyone is pretty excited for AJ!
AJ was set apart as a Missionary last night, October 26 at 10 p.m. by President Ellsworth. He was given a beautiful blessing and the spirit was definitely present as he was given the blessings he'll need to perform his responsibilities for the next two years. I know that AJ will love his mission and do well.
This morning before we head up to the MTC, Andy had AJ come and be a special guest on his morning sports radio talk show, AG in the AM.
Check in time is 12:45 p.m. today. We are off to breakfast with Grandma and Grandpa Griffin and then on to Provo!
"And all the children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be the peace of they children." Isaiah 54:13
Best wishes AJ as you spread the word of the Lord. We love you!!!

Final Countdown
Seems like only yesterday....
AJ put his papers in as soon as he finished his Associate degree at Dixie College in early May. But, alas, it wasn't soon enough. His birthday came and went and he doesn't leave until 2 months after his birthday.
He is going into the MTC on Wed, Oct 27 and will spend 2 months there learning Tagalog. Then he should leave about Dec 28th to Cauyan, Phillipines. What an exciting way to start the new year!
We have been busy buying white shirts and dark socks and all the other fun things that go along with getting a missionary out. He got his endowments out September 9 and then started working on Friday's in the temple baptistry. He has really enjoyed that. We planned to get his endowments done on his birthay but the temple was closed that day (2 weeks) for cleaning.
Only 13 days left until AJ enters the MTC. Wow time flies! Seemed like forever when we got the mission call! This week AJ is finishing up his "list" of things to do. He got a VISA bank card, renewed his driver license and now has luggage. He has purchased the special "bug" treatment for his clothes but we have yet to do that. It is supposed to help him when he gets over there to not get sick. .
AJ lost his scriptures a couple of weeks ago and we were thinking we were going to have to buy a new set but he located them this past Sunday, yeah!!! So I guess he really is ready to go. He bought a book of Mormon in Tagalog -- said he even recognized a word or two. Impressive!!!
Won't be long now! AJ will speak this Sunday at his young adults ward and next Sunday at our home ward and then he's outta here!
